The most precious thing in my life…

inspiration April 29th, 2008

For this blog post, we have to write the most precious thing in our life, but it has to be the first thing that pops in your head. In that case, the most precious thing that, “popped,” in my head was my family. They are so precious that if they were gone, I wouldn’t have a family to support me. Also, I would miss them very much. I wouyld be homeless and probably would go to an adoption center. It’s not fun to live with a family that is not even yours. My life would be the life of a hobo’s. That’s one of the main reasons why this is very important to me because I’m greatful to have this life and I never want it to go away. Sure, I don’t have all of the things I want and the type of money my family wants, but you should just enjoy life; it’s too short to not appreciate it. I also hate school, but my parents and family inspired me to get good grades and help out.

Whenever I have a sport like track, basketball, or dance, my family, including grandparents, are always there. I’m glad. I would never want to lose them.

QUESTIONS!

Uncategorized April 10th, 2008

What do you like best on where you live?

The best thing about living here is that we have all of the seasons. We have fall, winter, summer, and spring with the weather that naturally goes with it. For example, down south where Florida is, they hardly get any snow for the winter. However, here we get A LOT of snow. It’s nice though because then you can go sledding and actually experience a snow ball fight. In addition, our summers are really warm and it’s also fun to go swimming, going in the sprinkler, or a trip to the beach, which I love! If I ever move, I would really miss this factor of where I live!

What makes your school unique?

The thing that makes our school unique is pretty much the teachers. Every teacher is different and have their own way of teaching their students. For example, Mr. Bogush teaches us real-world things that we might, and probably will, face during life. Like blogging and using the computer. On the other hand, Mr. Nagel, my science teacher, goes by the book, but we learn sooo much that way. So, I like my school because if every teacher was the same, I would get bored really easily!

Three Words…

Uncategorized April 4th, 2008

Ok, Three words for this election is…

We Need Change.

Why I chose these three words for the three words project is because when ever I turn on the TV, I always hear that we need change, which is true. However, when we get elected a new president, we have to know how they are going to change our country.

We need change. That’s all I can say. It doesn’t matter if we need change in gas prices, economy, or even in global warming to make a difference, but we need change in Washington, D.C.

Thanks.   =]

Just One little word called… HIGH SCHOOL!

high school February 4th, 2008

What I think about high school is that it’s a way to get kids into their future and become more like adults. However, I feel that I’m not ready for high school and just want to stay in the “middle school zone.” This is the place where I feel safe because once you become an adult, you have to go through bills, taking care of kids, and all of these tests that doctors have to give you and I don’t want to cross that bridge when you go from a kid to an aldult just yet. Back then when my mom was in high school, it wasn’t as difficult as it is today. They might of had just one test to be able to graduate, but now a days, kids, or teens, have to take SAT’S and more tests to see your ability level for college or have a good education. However, also back then, you didn’t have to go to college to get a good job and make good money, but now, you do! Everything is becoming harder and harder to just live your life! Then you get under the pressure of thinking that you’re never going to be successful with life because that SAT is practically your future! Everything that you do in high school is your future. That’s why I’m afraid that if I fail in my classes, my future will be terrible! I don’t have enough courage yet to acheive my goals in life, which is making me afraid of high school. Maybe by the end of the year I will have more courage to acheive my goals but if I don’t, then I’ll be a mess.

Another thing with high school is that you never know which on to go to! Right now, I’m stuck with two different ones, but I’m not sure which one I want to go to. One is just a public school and the other one is a private school. The private school is a better chance for me to get into a good college which would be for my furture, but the only problem is that it is harder to get an A than the public school because they’re all college preperation courses. Plus, it costs a lot of money to go to a private school because just the bus fee is around $800 just for one year! Hopefully our family will get some financial aid! However, all of my friends and the people who help me get through life are going to the public school. This is a great way to get me through high school because then they will encourage me to be more outgoing. Plus, there are some other courses that I would like to take at the public school rather than the ones at the private school. There’s just too many decisions!

In the end, high school is all about tough decisions and hard work. Some how in the end, it will pay off though!

He has a dream, and that certain dream, came true.

martin luther king jr. day January 18th, 2008

Have you ever thought about why a guy named Martin Luther King Jr. became famous by saying something kinda like, “I have a dream?” Or ever wonder why we don’t have any school on that day he got assassinated? This guy was one of a kind type of person. Monday, January 21st, Martin Luther King Jr. was born. He was the one who said that he had a dream that one day, whites and blacks, will get along. I agree with this and I would, if I was African American, speak for my right to have an equal life. He inspired so many people that he changed history! Many schools across the country close just to honor Martin Luther King Jr. because we would like to honor his sacrifice that he gave to all of the people in the world why were against racism. He showed that no matter what color you are, even if you were purple, you would still have the right to vote, you would still have the right to speak for yourself and not let anyone treat you badly, but most importanly, you would still have the right to just be yourself and let people really know the true you- what’s on the inside. It doesn’t matter about the outside of your body and it doesn’t matter if you’re perfect, so what Martin Luther King did was prove that even though people may look different, they’re just like everyone else on the inside. Sure, they may like different foods, colors, and more, but they’re still human! So that’s what they deserve. The point is that now a days people try to be unique, and not like everyone else. But imagine if he didn’t give that certain speech on April 4, 1968? Where would we be today. Now there’s a scary thought, so we are so proud of celebrating this man of freeing our country from racism. This is what he said:

“I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed; ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’ I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day, even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.”

“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream today¼I have a dream that one day down in Alabama with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, one day right there in Alabama, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with the little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today.”

So now you are probably asking something like so why don’t we have school on this day? Well, I’ll tell you why. If we where in school on Martin Luther King Day, then that wouldn’t be celebrating it. So, it’s kind of saying that if we have school on Martin Luther King Day, then why don’t we just have school on Christmas and all of the other holidays. It wouldn’t be fair to this guy who honored so many people and pretty much sacrificed his life to many people who didn’t have the freedom to much as other people would. Because of that, this is why we thank and appreciate all of the freedom that we’re allowed today and the risks that Martin Luther King Jr. had to face for all of us. Thank you Martin Luther King Jr.!

The girl with an essay and how it changed our lives today!

inspiration December 21st, 2007

Hey, I’m here to show and talk about a video that inspired me and may inspire you. Why this movie has inspired me is that when the little girl was trying to make a point that seemed impossible,  it really followed through. This little girl came up with the idea with the cell phone. However, when she was reading her essay, everyone was laughing at her because it was most likely not to come true… but it did. The point here, or main idea, of this movie, is that you can follow your dreams no matter what! No matter if you’re little, or too big. Let it out and express yourself! It doesn’t matter what other people think about you or your idea, just let them show. This follows the saying that you never know if you don’t try… it’s true! The three points that I am trying to make is that you can express yourself by maybe writing in a journal, like this little girl, you can tell the world your ideas and then, tell them with a passion to everyone that will listen to them. So, you could maybe change the world too, but in a positive way!

Too many people that influence me!!!

influence December 15th, 2007

The people that influence me the most, well, besides my parents, would be the people at school. Everyday when I go to school, I try hard to do my best- while trying not to be influenced. There are so many people who are nagging everyone and being stereotypists. That’s why I just like to be me, so no one could say that I’m a posser or someone that I’m not. However, there are so many kids trying to be who they aren’t just so other kids won’t make fun of them or talk behind their back. Besides personality wise, there are kids who just act, “different,” than who they really are just so they could make more friends. But, you can’t buy your friends or act different just to make someone like you. For all you know, people could have liked you the way you were before! This leads into when people talk about you when you don’t know about it. In my school, especially, people always talk about someone behind their back. In other words, they’re nice to them to that person’s face, but then when they leave their sight, they start talking about how much they hate them. My school can’t go a day without someone doing or acting on this. This is connected to how people are influenced because people don’t want anyone to be a, “fake” friend to them! Well, I know that I wouldn’t want a “friend” to be nice to me and then say how much they hate me when I have left their area. That’s not right. This influences me everyday and the sad thing is that EVERYONE does it.

No one’s perfect. I have even done some of these things once and a while like everyone else because it’s natural, but people who have done this type of thing everyday has a serious issue! For example, I would go down the halls in our school and then I would hear someone say something like, “did you see what she was wearing,” or, ” yeah, I know, she’s so weird.” Then the next day I would see them be best friends when they were talking badly about eachother the other day. This is what influences me the most besides my parents and the also influences the majority of our school everyday and in every way.

However, there are people who influence me in a good way. People who give me opinions, and people who are always there for me. not too many people are like the ones I have explained before, but many are like that. These both influence me and the people that influence me to be a better person would be my friends. My friends always help me with the tough times I go through. Many are there for me when I need help and they also give me advice. I appreciate them and I could’t imagine life without them! The people who are my true friends are the ones who tell the truth and the ones I couldn’t live without. They influence me everyday, but in a positive way, not negative. In fact, if they didn’t influence me to push myself and work hard, I wouldn’t be typing this and making my, “i” a capitol! They are always there for me no matter what and i’m always there for them. They know when to help me and when to leave me alone. Friends are people who NEED eachother to survive, kind of like a give and take thing. They influence me positively even when the goings get tough- and that’s a major influence to be put on!

I Wonder…

Uncategorized December 3rd, 2007

I wonder if the world will end soon. Have you ever thought about that or in this case, wondered about it. The world doesn’t last forever like us, but it does live longer. I know that this is a scary thought, but think about all of the things the world has been through. Nuclear bombs, polution, what else? Now everyone is concerned about global warming! Our environment, which would be the world, is all wacked up. The weather in the winter is seeming to be getting warmer. The summers are seeming to be getting warmer, too! Aren’t they warm enough? Even the poles are getting warmer every year even though you may not notice it.  Did you notice that in the fall it would rain, be sunny, and then suddenly get cold all in the same week. Well, if you have, then that’s what I mean by how our weather is all wacked out. Many people beleive this too. What about you? Do you ever wonder if the world will end soon?

here are the two other blogs I commented on about I wonder:

Funny sounds with bottles!

Uncategorized November 11th, 2007

Hey! Check these sounds!!! But sounds made from what? An empty ranch dressing bottle, of course!!!

Over the weekend, my friend and i wanted to have salad. So, we got out the lettuce, and then we took out the dressing (ranch), and then the forks. ( We were bored, so we wanted to make something.) After that, we went to squeze the ranch bottle and it sounded funny! It was a unique sound from a bottle. when you get home, get out some ranch for salad or veggies and squeze it!!! But make sure that there’s a tinsy bit left or it won’t work.

You can do it anywhere, but i perfer at home! :)

Did you know that you can put ranch dressing on pizza crust if you don’t like veggitables? yummy!!!
